Botanical description |
The Sichuan pepper tree is a thorny shrub with aromatic foliage that can grow at temperatures down to -15°C. It is the seed coat that, once dried and ground, is used as Sichuan pepper. Despite its name, this spice is not part of the pepper family , but of the citrus family.
