Botanical description	Ylang-ylang is an evergreen tree pruned to 2–3 m high in cultivation but can reach 25–30 m in its native natural environment. The flowers, solitary or in clusters, are composed of a three-lobed calyx and six long, hanging petals.
Olfactory description	Its light yellow essential oil gives off a floral, green and warm scent.
